Future Goals
As I approach graduation, I have a clear vision for the next phase of my career, even if some details are still taking shape. My immediate goal is to secure a full-time position in healthcare administration or a related operational role. I have already applied to several organizations in my area, including Ascension, Riverview, IU Health, Witham, and Hendricks. I am eager to start working right after graduation so I can continue building on the skills I developed during my capstone internship and gain even more real-world experience.
Alongside working, I plan to pursue several professional certifications to strengthen my qualifications. I want to renew my CPR, First Aid, and BLS certification to keep those foundational skills current. I am also researching other professional management certifications that could make me a stronger candidate for leadership roles down the road.
I have been thinking seriously about pursuing an MBA, but I recognize that it is a significant financial investment. For that reason, I plan to wait one to two years after graduation before applying. During that time, I will focus on working full-time, saving money, and gaining practical experience that will make me a stronger MBA candidate when I am ready. I believe that working first will also help me clarify exactly what I want to study and specialize in during graduate school.
Ultimately, my long-term goal is to grow into a leadership role within a healthcare organization, where I can help improve operations, support staff, and contribute to better patient outcomes. I know this journey will take time, patience, and continued learning, but I feel more prepared and excited for the road ahead than ever before.
