Professional Goals
Looking honestly at my professional goals, I know I still have several areas where I need to grow. First, I want to strengthen my financial skills and comfort with math, because during my internship I sometimes felt lost when discussing financial reports and budgets. I plan to address this by seeking out additional coursework or online training in healthcare finance and accounting. Second, I need to keep working on my shyness and become more comfortable speaking up in group settings. While my internship helped me come out of my shell, I still hesitate at times when I should share my ideas. I want to practice asking more questions without fear of sounding inexperienced. Third, I recognize that networking does not come naturally to me, but I know how important it is for my career. I need to push myself to attend events, follow up with contacts, and build genuine professional relationships even when it feels uncomfortable. Finally, I am working on being more consistently on time. This is a simple habit, but it shows respect for others and professionalism. My goal is to treat every meeting and deadline as non-negotiable. I am confident that by naming these weaknesses honestly and creating a plan to improve, I will continue to grow into the healthcare professional I want to become.
